About Orbics

A space for people who build with their minds.

Connecting students, researchers, and academicians across disciplines — without distraction, without an algorithm fighting for your attention.

Orbics is a social networking platform for students, researchers, and anyone connected — directly or indirectly — to academia.

Across disciplines, social connection and collaboration are essential to research, thoughtful work, and creating real impact. Traditional academia and today's informal culture of reading and writing share this in common: students, researchers, and scholars want to share their work with colleagues, friends, and others — to explain what they're good at, or what they're currently working on, however small it is.

Collaboration and debate need the same thing, a social layer that lets ideas move smoothly between people. In the modern world, this has scaled quickly, helping students and academicians share their work publicly and connect with others in their field, globally.

Plenty of platforms already offer this. But their algorithms are built to hold attention, not to serve it — and attention is exactly what someone in academic work can least afford to lose.

So there was a need for something built differently: without an engagement-driven algorithm, and built instead to promote meaningful, impactful work in the real academic world. That's how Orbics came into shape.

Orbics connects academic people across related and interdisciplinary fields — shared interests, shared vision, without distraction or hindrance. We've tried to preserve the taste of academia and its social side. Whether you're from STEM, the humanities, or business, you're welcome here. Whether you're a student in high school, an undergraduate, a graduate, a PhD, or a professor — you're wholeheartedly welcome here. Let's, together, build something with real impact.
