Spent four years watching industries move without the people in them talking to each other: Orbics is what that taught him to build.

Essa has spent the last four years working across deep tech, hospitality, and wellness — with organizations including Fashion TV, Rebel Foods, and AGHPL — while researching IoT and LoRa systems for infrastructure modernization. That mix of hands-on industry work and technical research gave him a front-row view of a problem that kept repeating itself: smart, capable people, siloed by discipline, with no real way to find each other.

Orbics grew out of that observation — that meaningful academic and professional connection shouldn't depend on the right conference or the right department hallway. Essa focuses on shaping Orbics into infrastructure serious people can actually rely on, not another feed competing for their attention.

Building the platform he wished existed: one where curiosity doesn't have to stay inside a single field.

Kifayat is an undergraduate student in STEM, with interests that extend well beyond it, from literature and poetry to art. That range shapes how he thinks about Orbics: people doing serious work are rarely confined to one discipline, and the platforms built for them shouldn't assume otherwise.

He brings that same range to Orbics — technical enough to help build it properly, and attentive enough to what makes it worth using. For Kifayat, the platform is a bet that people, and their work, are more interesting than any single field lets them appear.
